HISTORY

LAYING THE FOUNDATION

Precise Continental was founded in March, 1983 under the name Precise Corporate Printing, Inc. It was founded by Jim Donnelly, Frank Polizzi, Peter Colamartino and Sol Linderman with the acquisition of Regen Engraving Company and resided at 47 Ann Street, New York. In the beginning Precise focused on stationery engraving and corporate outfits.

In 1985 Precise purchased Colonial Engraving Company, a full-service engraver. Later that year Precise consolidated manufacturing facilities into an expanded 13,000 square feet space at 75 Front Street in Brooklyn.

In September 1989 Precise took its first big step toward new technology. All office functions became computerized and the state-of-the art photo-typesetting Compugraphic system was installed. Precise officially became part of the digital age.

March 1993 brought a big change for the company. Precise acquired Ball Engraving which broadened the customer base and added technical capacity. The change meant more engraving and offset presses the skills of many craftsmen.

Precise's corporate outfit department continued its expansion in the spring of 1996 with the acquisition of Hasbrouck Thistle.

September 1999 was one of the next big technology changes for the company. Precise Online Purchasing officially launched, which offered clients the ability to place stationery orders via the web and manifest real-time proofs. Precise was live on the web.

ADDING COLOR

In July 2000, Ads-N-Color, a commercial offset printer in Manhattan, joined the Precise fold. Ads-N-Color brought us to the next level within the offset printing department. We now had a 28" four-color Heidelberg press and craftsmen trained in the art of four-color printing. The services we could offer our clients continued to grow.

July 2001 brought more changes. We consolidated facilities into a new, much larger home located at 20 Jay Street in Brooklyn. The relocation afforded us the opportunity to upgrade equipment and install a 28" six-color Heidelberg Press.

Lynbrook Engraving joined Precise in March 2002, which expanded the services available to Lynbrook's clientele while extending Precise's presence on Long Island, NY

In July 2004, Continental Corporate Engravers joined Precise. The addition of Continental expanded our engraving capabilities to include diecutting, foil stamping and specialty handwork under one roof. Continental Corporate Engravers was a third-generation engraving company with roots back to 1890 and a great reputation for high-end specialty engraving.

In July 2006 Precise chose to get out of the corporate outfit business and sold our corporate outfitting business to CorpKit. The decision allowed Precise to focus more closely on its core market.

LOOKING AHEAD

In January of 2007, we embarked on a mission to streamline our brand identity, to reflect our enthusiasm for excellence, our 20+ years of award winning printing, and our passion for the creative process. With insight from our valued clients, employees, and vendors we established an identity we can all be proud of -- one that expresses our dedication to quality in all that we print, and creativity in all that we do. In July 2007 Precise Corporate Printing was re-launched under the brand Precise Continental, Printing for Creative Minds.

In July 2008 Precise Continental further expanded its market in the legal community with the acquisition of the northeast sales operations of Blumberg Excelsior.

In May 2011 Precise Continental moved to Harrison, NJ. Our new 35,000 sq. ft. facility is conviently located right outside NYC - 4 stops from the World Trade Center.

In August 2011 Precise Continental joined forces with Dickson's Inc. of Atlanta, GA. Dickson's is an award-winning, Atlanta-based specialty printer with many customers in the luxury brands of fashion, jewelry, hospitality as well as real estate and finance.

Through the years, Precise Continental has always taken a visionary approach. We have kept an eye trained on our clients' needs and the direction of their businesses, as well as maintaining a keen focus within our industry to determine the next step in our evolution. We look forward to future challenges and where they may collectively - and creatively - lead us.
